Design Experience:
Human - Machine interaction = Ergonomics, Research & Evaluation, Specifications, Design & Modelling, Presentation.
Inside out - Brand Transfer = Internal Components, seating/riding arrangement, luggage space, engineering packaging, proportions & classification of a vehicle.
Design the Challenge = Interpreting and represent three-dimensional objects, developing a sense of proportions. Executing design projects respecting the relation between brand and product, developing a concept through inspirational research. Demonstrating appropriate skills and knowledge, executing and presenting a given design brief.
The speed form = Selecting and utilizing the most appropriate material for purpose of aesthetics and physical properties. Aerodynamics. Capturing the essence and emotion of speed and motion.
Cross culture = Research of Sculptors, Designers, Architects, Art Movement. Observation of unique style and approach to design. Mood boards, Design Boards.
Retro Futurism = Cadillac 59 Fleetwood to 2050 future redesign concept, manual techniques, front & rear 3/4 renders.
Land Rover live project = Analyzing feedback, visual impact, customer requirements, following chosen design direction, team work, A0 Boards, package drawing 1:20 scale, 1/4 scale clay model, This module give the group and myself an insight on what is expected from a design manufacturer which we had to propose a variety of designs based on a given platform. After feedback and my own proposal being chosen as a link to the requirements asked. The team was then set out to design and build the vehicle where we were split into groups, myself building and carving a 1/4-scale clay model. This having a big impact on completion with a satisfying delivery as well as the group producing great work for displaying in the Presentation with head designer Andy Wheel of Land Rover / Jaguar.
CGI External Project = Meeting requirements of brief, description of the context from chosen brand, rationale of design & sustainable issues. Evidence of research and review of the history, DNA and brand values of the chosen iconic brand, proposed scenario for the new car, brand/platform base, target vision, market, key features. This project was set out by head designer
Ian Nisbett for CGI (Concept Group International) including regular tutorials and guidance leading up to the finished proposals.
Major project = Project rationale, aim of the project, set own brief, technical insight, sustainability, human factors, market awareness, user, fitness for purpose, social semiotics, aesthetics, design specification, product & project analysis, engineering package drawings. The major project was a personal insight on designing a concept vehicle, which I aimed in overcoming today’s issues to solving them also adding innovation to transportation. Practical experience included making a clay model of the proposed vehicle to fiber-glassing creating a mold, model then being sprayed, then adding fine details such as lights and door shut lines presenting a professional finish. Completed model and illustration board displayed at The Waterfront Museum Swansea.
Major project displayed on Car Body Design – Automotive Design and Engineering Website.
